Using the general capabilities, literacy and critical & creative thinking with the cross curricula priority of sustainability I came up with an activity relevant to Years 5 & 6. Let me know the outcomes if you try it out with your learners.
Differing viewpoints: one person’s profit is another person’s cost
General capabilities: Critical and creative thinking, literacy (visual literacy and drama)
Skills:Speech bubbling and captions can be used to indicate that not everyone sees a situation in the same way.

Ask learners to devise captions to go with a photo of a dam. Groups might be allocated different standpoints on the dam scheme, such as local resident, farmer, developer, government official, environmentalist and so on. Groups create short drama performances to portray their opinions. Can the other groups guess the role and motivation suggested by each performance?
